Whole alternative medical systems rely on focusing not only on the symptoms which are showing in the person and treating them, but also relies on the person on the whole; this includes mood, lifestyle, exercise or lack of it and also strongly relies on practise and theory.
Yoga was originally formed in India over 5,000 years ago and is classed as an alternative therapy, however it is more than a form of medicine, it is a philosophy which is said to bring the body, mind and spirit together as one. It is only when one’s body, mind and spirit are in perfect harmony that a person can be fit and healthy and totally happy.
Shiatsu is an ancient Japanese form of healing, it has evolved from Traditional Chinese medicine which has been around for centuries and is a form of alternative medicine and therapy. The basis of shiatsu is the energy that is said to flow throughout the body and which when at peace, keeps us well and healthy. It is only when there is a blockage of this energy, which is called Chi, that symptoms begin to arise which gives us a clear indication that all is not well.
