Electromagnetic and magnetic therapy

Electromagnetic and magnetic therapy is a form of alternative medicine which has shown great success in treating conditions associated with physical pain along with emotional pain. The electromagnetic devices which are used include the magnet and are now being used in treatment worldwide. Problems that have shown to be treated successfully using this form of therapy include the healing of broken bones, problems associated with stress and anxiety, brining relief from pain when associated with joints or involving the skeletal system.

Using magnets as treatment is not as outlandish as it might sound at first; the body already has magnetic pulses running through it naturally, although these are very subtle electromagnetic fields. It was through the observation of the body’s own magnetic field that electromagnetic therapy was first introduced.

How is this magnetic and electromagnetic therapy performed?

It has to be said that when considered alongside other forms of alternative therapy magnetic therapy is one of the safest, and one which has shown no side effects whatsoever when performed correctly under supervision. There are many forms which are used in the actual treatment, depending on what the treatment is actually being used for will depend on what type of magnetic therapy is used.

For example if the problem is a broken bone then a large machine will be used in order to generate a large magnetic field. If the magnetic therapy is being used as an aid to de-stress, or to help with sleep problems then magnetic blankets will be used as treatment.

There are special tiny magnets which are placed upon the acupressure points if the treatment is aimed at certain areas of pain and devices that can be placed in clusters around the area such as the head, hands or feet.

What can electromagnetic therapy treat?

There are many general conditions and symptoms which magnetic therapy can be used to treat and which have been treated successfully. Electromagnetic therapy has shown positive results when used for toothache, fungal infections, dissolving kidney stones, reducing swelling and oedema.

Recent studies have shown great success in treating animals who have cancer, diseases which are related to old age, arthritis and infertility have also had positive results.

The nervous system is one area in which electromagnetic therapy is considered to be useful; this includes many aspects of the nervous system. The areas which have had positive results include epileptic seizures, Parkinson’s disease, headaches and migraines, sleep disorders including insomnia and panic attacks.

The majority of alternative medicines and therapies have always been somewhat questionable to the Western world; indeed many have been very sceptical about them making any difference whatsoever.

The majority haven’t had clinical trials or studies conducted for them and so there is no evidence to prove they work or not. However, there have been many clinical trials and studies associated with magnetic and electromagnetic therapy which have proven the usefulness of the treatment and therapy.
